Its no secret that the midwest is king of major board game conventions. Gen Con in Indiana, and Origins in Ohio are just some of the major examples which draw major crowds to carpool across state lines. However, the landscape is changing this year, and giving the East Coast its own convention dedicated to games not connected to a televison: PAX Unplugged in Pennsylvania.

The convention will take place on November 17th through the 19th, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelpha. It's a brand new adventure for the Penny Arcade team; while its standard conventions across the world rely on an impressive and flashy show floor of video games, this new event is dedicated specifically to those fans who love tabletop games of all fashion. It's a good move, as its no secret that around each of their other events spring up board game meet up events that draw hundreds on their own.

If tabletop gaming is up your alley and you live on the East Coast, there's even more good news in the fact that the price for this new event is wildly cheap comparatively. Single day passes will run you only $25, while full three day passes are available for $60. As an added incentive, Sunday Kid badges (ages 6-12) are only $10, so its a great way to spend an afternoon with family if you live nearby. The tickets are going up for sale today, May 3rd, so if you are interested, keep checking their website throughout the day: the tickets are supposedly going on sale at 3 PM EST. If you have twitter, it might be a smart idea to follow their official twitter account to stay on top of all the developments.

Good luck in getting passes to everyone interested in this brand new event! I know I am going, and if you are too, I hope to see you there in November.
